I remember clearly Bill Nye the science guy especially from elementary science class. I recently discovered he has a specific episode on measurement. (Shown Below). But there is one clip from this episode that grabs my attention. In one scene, Bill shows the audience how a plane is made. He talks about how each part of the plane has to be specifically measured in order for each part to fit together. In another scene he talks about how some measurements have to be so precise because sometimes one part of an object is made in one place and another part of the object is made in another. This makes a standard measurement imperative to everything we use today.
